Job Description
About the Company
Our client is an international manufacturer of urban infrastructure and public environment solutions with a strong presence across Northern Europe. Germany is one of the company's key strategic growth markets as it pursues an ambitious expansion plan to become the leading Northern European player in urban furniture and public environment solutions.
As Commercial Director Germany, you will take full ownership of the commercial business in Germany, leading sales, marketing, and commercial development while driving long-term profitable growth. Building on the company's established presence in the market, you will leverage the broader Group's product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities, and expertise to accelerate growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead the commercial team while actively developing key customers, winning major projects, and expanding the business. It is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial commercial leader who enjoys building markets, creating long-term customer relationships, and making a direct impact.
What you will do
- Develop and execute the commercial growth strategy for Germany, driving profitable sales growth, order intake, and margin development.
- Lead, coach, and develop the local commercial team with clear objectives, accountability, and a strong performance culture.
- Personally develop key accounts, win new customers, and lead major commercial opportunities.
- Build and implement a modern, systematic sales process using CRM as the foundation for pipeline management, forecasting, and customer development.
- Identify new customer segments, strategic partnerships, and market opportunities to accelerate growth.
- Strengthen long-term relationships with municipalities, public sector organizations, transport authorities, construction and infrastructure companies, landscape contractors, architects, planners, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead complex project sales, including public tenders, procurement processes, and consultative solution selling.
- Drive cross-selling across the wider Group portfolio, expanding opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Take ownership of the German marketing activities together with the international marketing team to support lead generation and commercial growth.
- Collaborate closely with international colleagues across sales, product management, marketing, sourcing, and production.
- Bring customer and market insights into Group-level product development and commercial decision-making.
What you bring
- Proven track record of successful B2B sales and delivering profitable growth within the German market.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing commercial or sales teams.
- Strong understanding of modern B2B sales processes, CRM, pipeline management, and sales forecasting.
- Hands-on, energetic, and entrepreneurial mindset—you enjoy being in front of customers as much as leading a team.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, margin management, and complex negotiations.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, urban furniture, public environment solutions, public transport, or comparable project-based industries.
- Experience managing long sales cycles, public tenders, procurement processes, and consultative solution selling.
- Demonstrated ability to build markets, develop new customer relationships, and convert opportunities into sustainable business.
- Existing network within municipalities, infrastructure, construction, architecture, landscape planning, or related industries is a strong advantage.
- Native-level German and professional English communication skills.
Why join?
Join at a pivotal stage in the company's growth, with Germany playing a central role in its long-term strategy.
Take on a highly visible leadership position with real influence, ownership, and the freedom to shape the commercial direction of the German business.
Be backed by an established international Group with strong brands, complementary product portfolios, in-house manufacturing capabilities, and decades of industry expertise.
Enjoy an entrepreneurial environment with short decision-making paths, where ideas turn into action quickly.
Benefit from a competitive compensation package, performance-based incentives, and comprehensive benefits while helping shape the future of a growing international business.
