QA Automation Selenium Playwright Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks using Selenium and Playwright. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in both tools and a strong background in test strategy, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright
• Build and enhance test automation frameworks (hybrid/data-driven/keyword-driven/POM)
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA team members to understand requirements and define test coverage
• Perform functional, regression, cross-browser, and end-to-end testing
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Identify, log, and track defects; work closely with development teams to resolve issues
• Review test results, analyze failures, and maintain test reliability
• Create and maintain test documentation, test plans, and test cases
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Mentor junior QA engineers on automation best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in test automation
• Minimum 6 years of experience specifically with Selenium and Playwright
• Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python (for test scripting)
• Experience with test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Mocha, or Jest
• Solid understanding of the Page Object Model (POM) and other automation design patterns
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, or similar)
• Hands-on experience integrating tests with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest)
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6)
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes for test environment management
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification

Location Requirement

• Candidates must be local to Phoenix, AZ and available to work on-site
• No relocation assistance provided; only local candidates will be considered
