Sr. EDI Integration Consultant

Resource 1 is seeking a Sr. EDI Integration Consultant for a long-term remote contract opportunity supporting a global SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative. The consultant will play a key role in migrating and supporting EDI integrations as the organization transitions from a legacy Gentran/AS400 environment to IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi).

This individual will work closely with internal EDI and SAP teams to develop, modify, test, and validate EDI maps and business processes supporting North American operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and validate EDI maps within IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi)
• Create customer-specific EDI maps based on established prototype transactions
• Analyze and interpret X12 EDI specifications and trading partner requirements
• Support migration of existing EDI trading partners from Gentran to Sterling B2Bi
• Configure and maintain business processes (BPMLs) within Sterling B2Bi
• Validate inbound and outbound EDI transactions and troubleshoot processing issues
• Monitor and test SAP IDoc integrations with Sterling B2Bi
• Review transaction results within SAP and ensure proper document processing
• Assist with communication setup and maintenance, including FTP/SFTP connections
• Collaborate with business users, SAP teams, and external implementation partners during the S/4HANA migration

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of EDI experience
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi)
• Extensive EDI mapping experience
• Experience working with ANSI X12 transactions, including:
• 850 Purchase Orders
• 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgments
• 856 Advance Ship Notices
• 810 Invoices
• Experience developing and troubleshooting SAP IDoc integrations
• Working knowledge of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA
• Experience creating and modifying BPMLs within Sterling B2Bi
• Ability to independently analyze EDI specifications and implement required mapping changes
• Strong troubleshooting and validation skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration experience
• Experience migrating trading partners from legacy EDI platforms to Sterling B2Bi
• XML integration experience
• Experience with proxy XML-to-X12 mappings
• Knowledge of FTP, SFTP, and communication protocol setup within Sterling
• Consumer products, manufacturing, retail, or distribution industry experience
