Azure / Fabric Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Microsoft Fabric subject-matter expert within an existing data engineering team while supporting the ongoing Azure Synapse environment
Translate enterprise architecture reference models into compliant, production-ready Microsoft Fabric solutions
Build end-to-end data pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources, transform and model it, and publish curated data products using medallion architecture patterns
Develop and maintain Fabric pipelines, notebooks, OneLake solutions, and data orchestration workflows
Prepare and deliver datasets for Power BI and visualization teams, as well as data science teams
Develop SQL queries, Python scripts, notebooks, and ETL/ELT workflows to support data engineering requirements
Work with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric orchestration capabilities to manage data movement and transformation
Support the migration of selected workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric and contribute to new Fabric development initiatives
Collaborate with enterprise architects, IT engineers, data scientists, and business-side data teams to deliver data solutions aligned with technical and business requirements
Apply CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code concepts to support reliable and repeatable deployments, including understanding how Bicep integrates with delivery pipelines
Support feature engineering and data preparation activities by understanding machine learning data requirements while the data science team remains responsible for model development
Participate in Agile sprints, track deliverables, and communicate project progress and potential issues to relevant stakeholders
Follow enterprise standards and established architecture guidelines while delivering scalable, maintainable data engineering solutions
