Our 213-bedroom property is located on the outskirts of St Andrews, boasting 2 championship golf courses and an award-winning spa and leisure facility. With multiple food and beverage venues on site, including our two AA Rosette Restaurant, St Andrews Clubhouse & Grill - serving the finest Scottish steak and seafood, we are able to offer our guests a world class experience for dining and leisure activities, right here on property.

Within 20 minutes from Leuchars Railway station and 35 minutes from Dundee, we are an easy commute from numerous Scottish destinations.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Engineering Team at Fairmont St Andrews as a PPM Engineer.

Working on a four on, four off shift pattern, you will play an important part in keeping our luxury resort running smoothly, safely and efficiently. From guest bedrooms and public areas to essential systems behind the scenes, you will help ensure our facilities are maintained to the highest standard and that any issues are resolved quickly and professionally.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. You will work alongside the wider Maintenance team to complete planned preventative maintenance, respond to operational needs and help create a comfortable, safe and seamless experience for our guests and colleagues.

A little more about what you will be doing:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across guest bedrooms, public areas and other areas of the resort

  • Maintain and repair guest-related FF&E, ensuring equipment remains safe, functional and well presented

  • Support the maintenance and upkeep of HVAC systems across guest areas

  • Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of guest-related IT and in-room technology

  • Carry out minor repair and improvement works across guest and public areas

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest concerns, identifying and resolving both the immediate issue and, where possible, the underlying cause

  • Complete routine inspections to identify potential maintenance issues before they impact the guest experience

  • Work closely with colleagues across the hotel to minimise disruption while maintenance work is carried out

  • Ensure all tools, equipment and work areas are maintained to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness

  • Follow all health, safety and Engineering procedures at all times

  • Support the wider Engineering team with additional maintenance tasks and projects as required

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience within maintenance, engineering or a similar hands-on technical role

  • Takes pride in completing work to a high standard

  • Is confident troubleshooting problems and finding practical solutions

  • Has a strong awareness of health and safety

  • Is organised, reliable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Understands the importance of delivering maintenance work with minimal disruption to guests

  • Brings a positive, proactive approach to a busy operational environment

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive Engineering team within one of Scotland’s leading luxury resorts, working in a role that has a direct impact on both the guest experience and the day-to-day operation of the hotel.
