Cybersecurity Support Technician

In this role, you'll monitor our client's networks for security issues, install and maintain security software, and document any issues or breaches you uncover along the way. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in today's cybersecurity threats and prevention methods and brings a strong understanding of computer networks and systems.
This is a vital role on our team: your work will play a direct part in preventing cyberattacks and keeping our data — and the families and associates who depend on it — safe and secure.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor computer systems and networks for security issues and breaches
• Investigate and document security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure
• Test company software, firmware, and firewalls to keep them current and secure
• Help develop security standards and best practices for the organization
• Train associates on network and data security procedures and best practices
• Respond to system and network security breaches
• Run diagnostic tests to identify vulnerabilities, then patch or update systems as needed
• Prepare reports documenting security audit findings and remediation strategies
• Recommend modifications in legal, technical, and regulatory areas affecting IT security
• Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Support Technician or in a similar role
• Experience with network penetration testing techniques
• Working knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities — and explain how to prevent them
• Experience with multi-factor authentication tools (e.g., Duo)
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365
• Experience with SentinelOne
• Understanding of patch management, with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner
• Cyber incident response experience
• Professional certification in cybersecurity (such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP) is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
