Job Description

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Location: Dungannon, County Tyrone, N.Ireland Salary: £50k-£60k + 10% bonus and benefits Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. Responsibilities:

Design and develop electrical circuit schematics, harnesses and panel layouts to applicable internal and industry standards and legislative requirements<br />Create technical documentation including design specifications, work instructions, parts list, list of critical parts and maintenance components.<br />Conduct simulations and other engineering investigations to guide and verify designs and specify the electrical and electronic components for use in the vehicle system.<br />Liaise with cross department teams to fully realise design boundaries helping to identify technical solutions to understand design and achieve “right first time” approach.<br />Develop electrical solutions by studying customer requirements, researching and testing components and determining overall system integration.<br />Communicate requirements and work with PLC Software Engineers to develop control strategies for powertrain &amp; driveline components and systems.<br />Working on projects to expand the current product range and bring new products to the market.<br />Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods, testing finished products and system capabilities.<br />Understanding of safety critical systems and the application to electrical and electronic system design.<br />Provide engineering support and technical answers in accordance with internal standards.<br />Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulations.<br />Any other duties as required by the Line Manager to suit business needs.<br />Adherence to ISO 9001 quality management system.<br />Adherence to company health and safety procedures.<br />Skills and

Qualifications:

HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working engineering experience.<br />A minimum of 5 years’ postgraduate work experience in a similar design role.<br />Experience in schematics design utilising industry recognised design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or EPLAN.<br />Experience with electrified vehicle powertrain systems and off-road electrical systems design.<br />Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.<br />Detailed knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.<br />Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).<br />Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.<br />Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<br />Must have good technical drawing skills.<br />Must have experience of drafting to electrical standards
