Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

Lead failure analysis efforts on switches and routers.
Perform in-depth root cause analysis, determine contributing factors, and recommend corrective actions to improve field product hardware quality.
Perform fault reproduction, troubleshooting, system characterization, and root cause analysis of product issues.
Ensure efficient bug tracking and resolution.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports for customers and Cisco leadership detailing findings from product failure investigations.
Apply knowledge of hardware system and board design, networking products, and high-speed SerDes interfaces.
Communicate technical findings effectively and present information to groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related degree.
6+ years of experience in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.
Experience designing for high-speed signals using SerDes/serial transmission technologies.
Experience with electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators such as Ixia and Spirent.
