Job Description

Starbucks is seeking a Software Engineer in Nashville, TN to build and enhance applications that power our stores and digital experiences. In this role, you'll design, develop, test, and deploy scalable services that support ordering, payments, inventory, and partner tools across our global operations. You'll collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to translate requirements into reliable, secure solutions. The ideal candidate is proficient in modern languages, cloud platforms, and databases, champions code quality, and thrives in a values-driven, inclusive culture focused on growth and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend software solutions for store and digital operations
  • Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to refine requirements and deliver features
  • Implement and document RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and third-party services
  • Build and maintain database schemas, queries, and data access layers
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices
  • Deploy and monitor services in cloud environments, troubleshooting performance and reliability issues
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation to streamline releases
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and provide accurate estimations and technical input
  • Champion security, scalability, and maintainability in all technical decisions
