Quality Engineer Hemel Hempstead | £Competitive + Benefits | Permanent Quality Engineer - Electronics / Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing We're currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a leading manufacturer based in Hemel Hempstead.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer with an electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing background to join a growing business and play a key role in driving quality and continuous improvement across the production environment.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you'll take a hands-on role across production quality, root-cause analysis, supplier quality and the ongoing maintenance of the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Key responsibilities as a Quality Engineer will include:

Conducting in-process and final quality inspections across electronic assemblies, PCBAs and mechanical integrations.<br />Monitoring production quality performance and identifying recurring issues and trends.<br />Investigating component, assembly and system failures, carrying out root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.<br />Using quality tools including 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA and CAPA to resolve and prevent non-conformances.<br />Supporting the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the ISO 9001 QMS.<br />Conducting internal audits and supporting external audit and surveillance activities.<br />Managing quality documentation and non-conformance records.<br />Carrying out incoming inspection of electronic components and raw materials.<br />Working with suppliers to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.<br />Working closely with Production and Engineering to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects and rework, and increase first-pass yield.<br />Providing quality reports, audit findings and non-conformance updates to the Quality Manager.The successful Quality Engineer will ideally have:

Previous experience working as a Quality Engineer within electronics, electro-mechanical or similar manufacturing.<br />Strong practical knowledge of ISO 9001 and experience working within a quality management system.<br />Experience with internal auditing would be highly advantageous.<br />The ability to interpret electronic schematics, engineering drawings and technical documentation.<br />Experience working with PCBAs / electronic assemblies.<br />Knowledge of IPC standards, particularly IPC-A-610, would be beneficial.<br />Strong experience in root-cause analysis and structured problem solving.<br />Good knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA and CAPA.<br />Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, engineering, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
