Job Description

Microsoft .NET Developer (ASP.NET Web Forms) – Onsite, Jackson, MS

Location: Jackson, MS 39211 (100% onsite, no remote option)
Employment Type: Contract (approx. 3 years)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
Client: State of Mississippi – Information Technology Services (ITS)
Rate: [Insert rate / DOE]

About the Role
We’re seeking an intermediate-level Microsoft .NET Developer to join the State of Mississippi ITS Development Team on a long-term contract. You’ll work across the full development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing/QA, implementation, training, and ongoing maintenance of public-facing web applications.

Please note: This role is focused on ASP.NET Web Forms. MVC-only experience will not qualify.

Required Technical Skills

  • ASP.NET Web Forms – Advanced (5+ yrs)
  • VB.NET or C# – Advanced (5+ yrs)
  • Visual Studio 2010 or later – Advanced
  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS – Advanced
  • SQL Server 2016 or later – Advanced
  • Designing and building web-based applications on the Microsoft platform – Advanced
  • Full SDLC experience (analysis, requirements, design, technical specs, development, testing, implementation, maintenance) – Advanced
  • Complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures – Intermediate (3+ yrs)
  • AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, XML – Intermediate
  • Windows OS – Intermediate
  • JSON – Beginner (1+ yr)
  • Console and batch applications for data interfaces – Beginner
  • Web services using WCF – Beginner
  • Azure DevOps / Git source control – Beginner

  • Developing and maintaining payment applications
  • Licensing and permitting application development and maintenance
  • Data conversion/migration (excluding DTS and SSIS packages)
  • Crystal Reports Designer
  • ADA Title II compliance

Education
Bachelor’s degree required.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work 100% onsite in Jackson, MS
  • Fingerprint-based background check required
  • No travel, on-call, or overtime expected
