Job Description

AI/Bioinformatics Technical Advisor Remote Blu Omega is seeking an AI/Bioinformatics Technical Advisor to support a federal program focused on biomedical research and digital health innovation. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for program management, strategic development, and technical oversight across biomedical and AI-driven initiatives. The position requires experience supporting biomedical data analysis, AI algorithm development, and program execution within a mission-driven environment. Program Overview Support Digital Health programs leveraging AI/ML, bioinformatics, mathematical modeling, and biomedical data to advance medical countermeasures and national health security.

  • Partner with the Program Director to design, execute, and manage complex R&D programs
  • Help shape strategy, define technical direction, and operationalize programs from concept through execution
  • Develop high-quality briefings, reports, and strategic communications for senior leadership
  • Provide scientific and technical insight across a portfolio of innovations focused on improving national health security
  • Support the development of work statements, RFIs, RFPs, and solicitations for research and development efforts
  • Offer feedback on digital health approaches for research, regulatory, and clinical strategies
  • Conduct landscape analyses to identify emerging technologies, gaps, and opportunities
  • Track program milestones, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring alignment between technical progress and financial execution
  • Lead technical efforts and serve as SME on scientific subjects
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, academia, and startups
  • Provide assessments, recommendations, and educational material to program teams as needed Required Qualifications
  • Ph. D. in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, computer science, or biological sciences
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant industry or postdoctoral experience
  • Extensive applied experience in AI algorithm development, mathematical modeling, and biomedical data analysis
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or Matlab
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; Tier 2 clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in biomedical or digital health fields
  • Detailed knowledge of AI models (neural networks, machine learning, etc.) and ability to evaluate and develop these models
  • Experience in program or project management within scientific, engineering, or biomedical environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information for diverse audiences
