Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients.
LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.ResponsibilitiesInspect DOT construction work to ensure compliance with standards and project Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans and standard specificationsInspect all material upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure complianceReview plans to identify potential violationsAbility to maintain field and office recordsAbility to perform complex quantity and engineering computationsAbility to read and interpret plans and specificationsDetermine the quality of materials being used throughout testingCommunicate effectively.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management preferred, could be substituted with NICET Level 3Minimum (6) years of experience in construction trades. Minimum (4) years of experience as a Construction Inspector including inspection of site/civilOSHA 30 hr.
Proficiency with web-based submittal collaboration systemsConstruction scheduling knowledge to support project teamExperience with the Connecticut Department of Transportation is preferredKnowledge of construction materials, methods, and proceduresAbility to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computationsExperience reading and interpreting plans and specificationsStrong written and oral communication skillsFollowing certs preferred: ACI Grade 1, AWS certified welding inspector, QCIS, CESSWI, NETTCP Concrete Insepctor, NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector, OHSHA 30Our Culture:We believe in the power of collaboration.
