About the Role
As a Founding Engineer at an early-stage energy storage software startup, you will build across the full stack of a product for optimizing and forecasting industrial battery systems. You will help shape the product and its technical foundations as the team grows.
What You'll Do
Build backend services and optimization algorithms for real-time energy asset processing.
Develop dashboards that let battery operators monitor and control their systems.
Design and scale cloud infrastructure for distributed battery systems.
Deploy production-ready optimizations and improve them using real-world feedback.
Work with cross-functional teammates to define product features and requirements.
What We're Looking For
No more than five years of work experience, with graduation in 2023 or later.
Full-stack familiarity with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Python on the backend, plus experience with Tailwind CSS.
Experience with a startup of fewer than 50 employees that was founded less than three years ago.
Energy industry experience and a track record of deploying optimizations in production.
A solid understanding of mixed-integer optimization and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or electrical engineering, with a grade better than 2.0.
Fluent or near-fluent German and a semester abroad at a leading university in the US, UK, or Asia.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: €70,000 to €100,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, five days per week.
