The Product Owner Automation & AI will lead product ownership for two high-impact teams focused on business process automation and rapid AI innovation. This role partners with business stakeholders, technology teams, and leadership to identify opportunities, shape product roadmaps, prioritize delivery, and ensure solutions create measurable business value.

This role will provide product ownership across the following areas:

Automation Delivery Team responsible for delivering business automation solutions using platforms such as Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Excel-based automation, and related technologies.

AI Prototyping Team responsible for rapidly designing and delivering AI-based proof-of-concepts and prototypes that validate business value before enterprise-scale implementation.

The ideal candidate brings strong product ownership experience, business engagement skills, delivery discipline, and a passion for using automation and emerging AI capabilities to solve practical business problems.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership and Business Engagement

Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, pain points, and process improvement initiatives.

Lead discovery workshops and requirement gathering sessions.

Translate business needs into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Continuously maintain and prioritize product backlogs across multiple initiatives.

Work closely with portfolio and leadership teams to align priorities with strategic objectives.

Build and maintain multi-quarter product roadmaps.

Drive alignment between business goals and technology solutions.

Automation Delivery

Own the intake, prioritization, and delivery lifecycle for automation requests.

Manage a Kanban-based delivery model focused on continuous value delivery.

Collaborate with developers, architects, and business SMEs throughout solution delivery.

Track delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.

Ensure automation solutions meet business expectations and operational requirements.

Drive adoption and business change management activities.

Monitor delivered solutions and identify opportunities for further optimisation.

Manage a rapid experimentation model focused on delivering working prototypes within short delivery cycles (typically two weeks).

Prioritize and refine AI opportunity backlogs.

Coordinate business demonstrations and collect stakeholder feedback.

Drive iterative improvements based on business input.

Validate business value, feasibility, risks, and adoption readiness.

Facilitate handoffs from experimentation to production delivery teams.

Coordinate governance, compliance, risk, and architecture reviews.

Drive execution plans required for enterprise deployment.

Ensure strategic alignment between innovation initiatives and long-term technology roadmaps.

Stakeholder and Executive Management

Provide regular status updates to business and technology leadership.

Present roadmaps, delivery progress, risks, and value realization metrics.

Facilitate steering committees, demos, and leadership reviews.

Build strong partnerships across business, technology, and vendor teams.

Manage expectations and prioritize competing demands effectively.

Required Qualifications

9+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Delivery Leadership roles.

Proven experience gathering business requirements and converting them into actionable product backlogs.

Experience managing Agile and Kanban delivery teams.

Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Experience delivering process automation solutions.

Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Blue Prism, Power Automate, Power Apps, UiPath, or related automation platforms.

Experience working with AI, Generative AI, Copilot, Machine Learning, or Data Science initiatives.

Experience leading Proof of Concepts (POCs) and MVP initiatives.

Background in Retail, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or Enterprise Analytics domains.

Understanding of enterprise architecture, governance, and software delivery processes.

Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe POPM, or equivalent Agile certification.
