The Role

• Perform accounting journal entries and analyze financial information for approximately 30 sites monthly.
• Reconcile bank accounts and prepare supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
• Review income statements analytically to ensure adherence to GAAP and HUD standards, and explain any variances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Collaborate with lenders, syndicators, investors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders on reporting and inquiries.
• Oversee interns as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Real Estate, or equivalent experience of 5+ years.
• Proven ability to record journal entries and evaluate financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of laws and regulations governing HUD, Tax Credit, and public housing.
• Familiarity with construction, affordable/senior living development accounting, ownership structures, and financial modeling.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
