Mechanical Design Engineer Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the continued development of advanced products for demanding applications. The successful candidate will enjoy a varied role spanning detailed design, product reliability, supplier management and continuous improvement within a high-technology engineering environment. Based in Larne, Northern Ireland, this is an onsite position operating Monday to Friday, with flexible working around core hours of 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The arrangement provides consistent collaboration with colleagues, suppliers and project teams while offering flexibility around the working day. Contribute to the design of advanced products The Role: * Develop detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks. * Create and maintain costed bills of materials. * Ensure mechanical designs meet customer, quality and operating environment requirements. * Select suitable third-party mechanical components. * Participate in design reviews and develop product specifications. * Manage mechanical supplier relationships, quality and standards. * Drive cost, weight and size reduction across products. * Research new materials and manufacturing processes. The Person: * HND or higher qualification in engineering or a related discipline. * At least one year of industry experience in a design role. * Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. * Logical and analytical approach to work. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
