Job Description

Required: Languages: Java 11+, HTML5, JavaScript
Front-End Frameworks: Angular
APIs: RESTful API Design
Databases: Neo4j, PostgreSQL
Testing: Junit, Mockito, Cucumber
Building: Maven
Tooling: GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Copilot

The Developer Experience (DevX) Standards and Controls function is building a platform for control owners and development teams to manage/view their compliance with a range of software development controls.

The candidate would be working on re-platforming an application from a vendor platform (PCF) over to an internal bring your own code (BYOC) platform as well as modernising the application and resolving dependency issues.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with developers, testers and the wider organisation to build and run products
Design, develop & implement back-end features as per backlog/priority with a small element of front-end development.
Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
Proactively work with customers to resolve their issues and respond to feature requests.
Build APIs and microservices
Work in an agile CI/CD environment to deliver rapid iterations at a sustained velocity
Be an active member of a team, participating in peer reviews and in testing others code through automated test scripting

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE REQUIRE
Strong Java development experience (modern Java 11+).
Experience designing and building microservices architectural style applications.
Experience with Graph databases (experience with Neo4j is desirable).
Experience modernising legacy Java applications.
Experience with the design and build of REST APIs
Experience building HTML/JavaScript front-ends (experience with Angular is desirable).
Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
Experience in BDD and/or TDD approaches and frameworks (unit/integration test automation)
Experience resolving issues with dependencies (e.g. conflicts), performing upgrades and remediating dependencies with vulnerabilities.
Experience in working with Agile including the use of Jira/Confluence.
Be a proactive person who will not wait to be told what to do next or be unblocked by others
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong English skills, written and spoken.
