Having reached profitability in our core market, we’re now scaling globally, with a strong focus on the US.
It’s still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us!

This position is based in New York.

🇺🇸 Our US team

The US is our biggest international priority. We already work with more than 10,000 brands, including Nike, Best Buy, Macy’s, Expedia, and Lululemon, and our ambition is to make the US our largest market within the next three years.

We’re building our local team, led by our Co-founder and CRO, based in New York. You’ll join us at an early stage of our US expansion, with an established product, an existing user base, and a business model that has scaled in our core market.

✨ Why this role is special

As Head of Online Business, US, you will build and lead our US commercial function. Reporting directly to our co-founder and CRO until we hire a US General Manager, you will define our commercial strategy, grow revenue through merchant partnerships, and build the team to scale the business.

Your scope will span winning new partners, growing existing relationships, negotiating compelling offers for our users, and developing our media revenue business. You will work closely with the Product, Marketing, Operations, and Data teams to achieve commercial results.

🎯 What you will do

  • US commercial strategy and performance. Set priorities and commercial targets, win the highest-potential partners and categories, and drive revenue growth.

  • US commercial team. Define hiring priorities, recruit and develop a talented team, and establish clear goals and accountability as the team grows.

  • New merchant partnerships. Build relationships with brands, affiliate networks, and agencies. Lead strategic negotiations, expand our access to key affiliate programs, and secure terms that create value for both our users and our partners.

  • Growth of existing accounts. Build commercial relationships with key partners, negotiate more compelling offers for our users and better commission rates, and turn successful campaigns into deeper, longer-term commercial relationships.

  • Media revenue. Develop our paid placement offering with our Marketing team, define packages and pricing, and win advertiser budgets by demonstrating the value of our audience and the results our campaigns deliver.

  • US market presence. Increase Joko’s visibility in the industry by attending key events and meeting with brands, networks, and agencies.

  • Commercial execution. Build a disciplined approach to pipeline management, account planning, forecasting, and performance reviews.

👀 Who we're looking for

  • Experience. You have 10+ years of experience in fast-paced environments, ideally in tech or startups, including at least 5 years in commercial roles.

  • Management. You have significant experience hiring, leading, and developing high-performing teams.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit. You enjoy building from scratch, embrace challenges, and take a hands-on approach to solving problems and pursuing ambitious goals.

  • Independence. You manage projects independently from start to finish, set high standards, and take ownership of results.

  • Interpersonal skills. You communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, and build lasting relationships with partners and colleagues.

  • Values. You work collaboratively, act with integrity and transparency, and bring humility and a commitment to continuous learning.

  • Business acumen. You quickly understand partners’ needs, identify commercial opportunities, and close deals that help you exceed your goals.

  • Attention to detail. You pay close attention to detail, spot issues early, and deliver thorough, accurate work.

  • Location. You are based in New York, or ready to relocate.

  • Languages. You are fluent in English. French is not required.
