Principal Data Governance Consultant - Microsoft Purview/Utilites

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Governance Consultant with strong Microsoft Data Governance expertise to support a major organisation in defining its future Data Governance strategy, operating model and technology roadmap.

The consultant will work with senior stakeholders across Data, Digital and the wider business to understand the existing landscape, identify governance requirements and define a scalable enterprise approach.

You will bring particular expertise across Microsoft Purview and the wider Microsoft data ecosystem, providing both strategic advice and practical understanding of how technology can enable effective Data Governance.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead Data Governance discovery and maturity assessments

• Design enterprise Data Governance frameworks and operating models

• Define data ownership, stewardship and accountability structures

• Advise on Data Governance technology strategy and architecture

• Provide specialist expertise across Microsoft Purview

• Define approaches to data catalogue, metadata management, lineage and classification

• Support Data Quality and information governance requirements

• Assess integration with the wider Microsoft data ecosystem

• Facilitate senior stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions

• Develop future-state recommendations, roadmaps and implementation options

Required experience:

• Extensive Data Governance consulting experience

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Purview/Microsoft Data Governance

• Experience with Microsoft data platforms and enterprise data environments

• Data catalogue, metadata, lineage, classification and Data Quality experience

• Proven experience designing Data Governance operating models

• Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting capability

• Experience developing strategies, roadmaps and technology recommendations

• Ability to bridge business Data Governance requirements with technical solutions

This is a senior consulting assignment and would particularly suit someone who has advised organisations on the development and implementation of enterprise Data Governance capabilities within a Microsoft environment.
