Job Purpose

Provide outreach and education to current FCC clients on accessing insurance options through the Missouri Eligibility & Enrollment System (MEDES). Assist clients with exploring coverage options, reapplication, redetermination, and other related needs. Educate clients on maintaining and effectively using health insurance for services at health centers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred experience with health insurance processes, including applications, eligibility determination, appeals, and filing procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.

Core Job Duties

  • Provide outreach and education to clients regarding health insurance options and proper usage.
  • Assist clients with the enrollment process, redetermination, and required components for eligibility determination.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and proficiency in MEDES, including application processes and eligibility standards.
  • Accurately enter required eligibility information into the MEDES portal and process applications for determination.
  • Support backlog processing of applications as time permits when not handling FCC-related tasks.
  • Collaborate proactively with programs and supervisors to identify and encourage enrollment among eligible individuals.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency's certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
