Senior SAP ABAP Technical Architect S/4HANA Migration
Location: Remote USA
Employment Type: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP ABAP Technical Architect/Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA migration and transformation projects.
The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of SAP ABAP experience with proven involvement in ECC to S/4HANA migration/conversion, including technical assessment, custom code remediation, optimization, development, integration, and post-migration support.
This is a senior-level technical role requiring a combination of hands-on ABAP development, S/4HANA migration expertise, technical architecture, troubleshooting, and collaboration with functional and business teams.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 15+ years of SAP ABAP development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA
  • Proven experience with ECC to S/4HANA migration/conversion projects
  • Strong understanding of S/4HANA migration strategy, technical assessment, remediation, and implementation
  • Extensive experience with ABAP on HANA
  • Strong expertise in RICEF/RICEFW development
  • Hands-on experience with Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP)
  • Strong experience with CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP development
  • Experience with OData Services and SAP Gateway
  • Strong knowledge of RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model)
  • Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5
  • Expertise in ALV Reports, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, ALE, BDC, and LSMW
  • Strong experience with custom code remediation and optimization for S/4HANA
  • Experience analyzing and resolving S/4HANA compatibility and custom-code issues
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization skills
  • Experience with SAP and third-party system integrations using APIs, OData, IDocs, RFCs, and other integration technologies
  • Good functional exposure to modules such as SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, WM/EWM, or related modules
  • Experience working on full lifecycle SAP implementations and S/4HANA transformation/migration programs
  • Ability to translate functional and business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Experience providing technical guidance and working with onsite/offshore development teams
  • Excellent communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
  • Multiple ECC to S/4HANA migration/conversion projects
  • Experience with SAP BTP
  • Experience with CAPM and cloud-based SAP extensions
  • Experience with SAP CPI / Integration Suite or PI/PO
  • Knowledge of Clean Core principles and S/4HANA extensibility
  • Experience with SPAU/SPDD and custom code remediation
  • Experience performing technical reviews, code reviews, and architecture/design activities
Ideal Candidate
We are particularly interested in candidates who have recent, hands-on S/4HANA migration experience and can clearly demonstrate their involvement in moving SAP environments from ECC to S/4HANA.
Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to traditional ECC ABAP development without recent S/4HANA migration/conversion experience may not be the best fit for this position.
