Job Title: Hydro Drone Architect
Location: Remote
Experience: 10+ Years

Must Have: ROS2, C++, Python, Autonomous Navigation, Sensor Fusion, LiDAR, Sonar, GNSS/GPS, USV/AUV, Robotics Architecture

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Hydro Drone Architect to design and architect advanced autonomous drone systems for water-based, marine, and hydro-environment applications. The role will focus on autonomous navigation, robotics, sensing, AI, communication, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end architecture for water-based autonomous drone systems.
  • Develop solutions for navigation, positioning, control, sensing, and autonomous operations.
  • Integrate AI/ML, computer vision, LiDAR, sonar, GPS/GNSS, IMU, cameras, and environmental sensors.
  • Design communication and telemetry architecture for remote and autonomous operations.
  • Develop integration between flight/vehicle controllers, robotics software, edge computing, and cloud platforms.
  • Architect real-time data collection, processing, analytics, and monitoring systems.
  • Design fail-safe mechanisms, redundancy, geofencing, and autonomous recovery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with robotics, embedded, AI/ML, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
  • Lead technical architecture, proof-of-concepts, system integration, testing, and deployment.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years in robotics, autonomous systems, drone/UAV/USV architecture, or related engineering.
  • Strong experience with autonomous robotics and control systems.
  • Expertise in ROS/ROS2, Python, C/C++, and real-time systems.
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS, IMU, LiDAR, sonar, computer vision, and sensor fusion.
  • Strong understanding of navigation, localization, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and robotics communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML and computer vision for autonomous operations.
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform, edge computing, IoT, telemetry, and data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of system safety, reliability, cybersecurity, and fault tolerance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with marine robotics, autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs), underwater drones (AUVs), or hydrographic surveying.
  • Experience with sonar, bathymetric mapping, water-quality sensors, and marine navigation.
  • Knowledge of MAV Link, PX4, ArduPilot, DDS, CAN, MQTT, or similar protocols.
  • Experience with digital twins, simulation, Gazebo, or NVIDIA Isaac.
  • Experience designing systems for harsh environmental conditions.
