Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer for the Controls Fleet within Data Center Capacity Delivery. You will design, deploy, and optimize large-scale control systems that power AWS data centers, using automation, scripting, and data analytics to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency. Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and monitoring, support commissioning and on-call operations, and drive continuous improvements that enhance capacity delivery for millions of AWS customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain control systems that support AWS data center capacity delivery
  • Develop automation to monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot controls fleet performance at scale
  • Analyze telemetry and operational data to improve reliability, safety, and energy efficiency
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to integrate control solutions
  • Support deployment, testing, and commissioning of new control systems across global sites
  • Create technical documentation, standards, and runbooks for fleet operations
  • Participate in on-call rotation to resolve high-impact incidents and drive root-cause analysis
  • Continuously improve systems through experimentation, prototyping, and data-driven decisions
