Job Description

AI Security Architect

Contract | 6 months | Hybrid London (3days) | up to £750 per day inside Ir35

We're looking for an experienced AI Security Architect to help shape and secure the next generation of enterprise AI platforms. This role will focus on designing secure AI architectures, assessing AI technologies and third-party vendors, and implementing security controls that enable the safe adoption of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

You'll work closely with Engineering, Cloud, Architecture, Risk, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable and compliant with emerging industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead security architecture reviews for AI, GenAI and Machine Learning solutions.
  • Assess AI/LLM architectures using industry frameworks including OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI RMF and MITRE ATLAS.
  • Conduct security assessments of third-party AI vendors, SaaS platforms and AI APIs.
  • Design and implement security guardrails to mitigate risks such as prompt injection, model poisoning, data leakage and insecure AI integrations.
  • Define secure authentication, API security and IAM controls for enterprise AI platforms.
  • Produce threat models, security patterns and reference architectures for AI solutions.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to embed secure-by-design principles into AI development.
  • Translate technical security risks into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Support governance, compliance and regulatory initiatives relating to AI security.

Required Experience

  • Solid experience as a Security Architect or Enterprise Security Architect.
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI Risk Management Framework and MITRE ATLAS.
  • Strong background securing AI, GenAI or Machine Learning platforms.
  • Experience performing AI security assessments and architecture reviews.
  • Experience assessing third-party AI vendors and AI APIs.
  • Strong understanding of API Security, OAuth, IAM, authentication and secure cloud architectures.
  • Excellent threat modelling and enterprise security design experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
