Job description

Are you ready to be part of an organisation that values expertise, different perspectives and collaboration? At CFS, we know our people are central to our success. We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute, develop and reach their potential. Together, our people enable us to make a difference and deliver exceptional experiences that help our customers achieve financial freedom.

Your Team

The Procurement & Supplier Governance team is part of CFS’s Finance and Fund Services division, which is accountable for sourcing, contracting and supplier governance across CFS. The work undertaken by the team plays an important role in supporting CFS’s purpose and strategic priorities.

This is a 6-month contract role starting January 2027, providing an opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of procurement and supplier initiatives.

This role could be full time or 4 days a week.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for new requests across the People & Culture, Managed Accounts and Distribution teams, from requirements definition and sourcing strategy through to negotiation and contract execution.
• Lead the planned renewal and renegotiation programme for key Corporate Services contracts between January and June 2027, engaging stakeholders early and establishing a clear commercial and risk approach for each engagement.
• Plan and run competitive sourcing activities (RFI, RFQ and RFP) and direct negotiations in line with CFS procurement policy, preparing clear and commercially focused recommendations for approval.
• Review, draft and negotiate supplier contracts, including commercial terms, service levels, liability, data protection, information security and exit provisions, working collaboratively with Legal.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding, including due diligence and supplier risk assessments, in partnership with the Supplier Governance, Risk and Information Security teams.
• Ensure third-party arrangements meet CFS policy and regulatory requirements, including APRA CPS 230 Operational Risk Management and CPS 234 Information Security, with material service providers appropriately identified and managed.

Your Capability and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in procurement, sourcing or category management, with experience managing end-to-end sourcing activities.
• Strong contract review skills, with the ability to identify commercial, legal and risk considerations within supplier agreements and develop practical solutions.
• Demonstrated contract negotiation capability, with experience achieving balanced commercial outcomes and effective supplier arrangements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to advise, influence and constructively challenge stakeholders at different levels.
• Experience in supplier onboarding and supplier risk assessment, combined with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver within the timeframe of a fixed-term engagement.
• Knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards CPS 230 (Operational Risk Management) and CPS 234 (Information Security) and their application to third-party arrangements. (Highly Desirable)
• Financial services experience, ideally within superannuation, wealth management or banking. (Highly Desirable)
