Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Location: Goleta, CA – Onsite

Client: American aerospace and defense company

Duration: 12 Month Contract

Job Summary:

Seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support the fabrication, assembly, testing, and rework of mechanical and electromechanical spacecraft components. The technician will work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to set up equipment, perform testing, troubleshoot issues, maintain quality, and support manufacturing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

·       Fabricate and assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.

·       Set up, calibrate, and test prototype units and manufacturing equipment.

·       Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and shop plans.

·       Perform rework, quality testing, troubleshooting, and process adjustments.

·       Collect and analyze manufacturing/test data and recommend modifications.

·       Handle fragile composite materials and manage adhesive usage, traceability, pot life, and out-time controls.

·       Work with engineers on mechanical/electromechanical designs, testing, and fabrication.

·       Use hand tools safely, including wrenches and screwdrivers, and understand torque concepts.

·       Maintain manufacturing documentation and communicate data with other departments.

·       Maintain shop cleanliness and follow manufacturing safety/quality procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

·       .

·       High school diploma/GED plus 2+ years of additional education and/or related experience.

·       Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

·       Ability to read and follow engineering drawings/schematics and written instructions.

·       Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·       Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.

·       Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts.

·       Strong initiative, adaptability, attention to detail, and motivation.

Preferred Skills:

·       Experience with electronic test equipment: DMMs, DC power supplies, Source Meters.

·       Basic shop math.

·       Knowledge of ISO requirements and manufacturing compliance.

·       Experience with cranes, rigging, forklifts, or similar equipment.

·       Soldering experience.

·       J-STD certification.
