Front Office Lawyer - Banking/Finance

An opportunity has arisen to join the front office legal function of a banking group which covers pan-European mid-market financing transactions from origination through to execution. Our client is an international banking group with a collegiate, non-hierarchical culture. The team has a substantial and growing loan book including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, asset-based lending and structured corporate lending. The bank is known for its supportive atmosphere, where every team member’s contribution is valued, and there is ample room for career development.

As Legal Counsel embedded in the Direct Lending team, you will work closely with clients, external finance providers, external counsel and internal stakeholders on the whole transaction lifecycle. This highly commercial role will suit a pro-active self-starter keen to get involved in the nuts and bolts of a deal. The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with 2-4 years’ PQE from a banking and finance team at a leading UK or US law firm. In-house experience is an advantage but not essential.

You will have strong LMA drafting and negotiation experience, sound commercial judgement, and the resilience and organisation to manage competing priorities under pressure. This is a broad in-house role offering genuine exposure to deal structuring within a collaborative team that provides both autonomy and room to develop.
