Job description

Position: Technical Product Owner
Position Type: 6-month CTH
Location: Tulsa, OK
Primary Responsibility:
As the Technical Product Owner, you’ll define requirements, maintain a rolling 12-month roadmap, and plan releases for a software team of 18. You’ll adapt agile product ownership best practices to the rhythms and processes of a manufacturing company, and in return you’ll have genuine ownership of priorities and scope. If you’re self-driven, detail-oriented, and good at solving problems on your own, we’d like to hear from you.
About the Team:
You’ll work with developers and QA engineers building internal and customer-facing tools, primarily in C#/.NET, React, and Azure, with some Python (Django, Flask) and TypeScript applications.
What You'll Do:
  • Engage with business stakeholders, developers, QA, and internal and external users to gather requirements, feedback, and usage data, and resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Own a rolling 12-month product roadmap aligned with organizational objectives and resource planning; review it regularly with stakeholders and communicate changes promptly.
  • Maintain the product backlog, prioritizing by business value, effort, risk, and dependencies using a transparent framework (e.g., RICE or MoSCoW), and explain trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Refine product backlog items with a clear user story, testable acceptance criteria, and identified edge cases; keep them current and confirmed with stakeholders and developers.
  • Plan and coordinate weekly releases across multiple development teams, including scope, dependencies, readiness, and communication; and help evolve toward continuous deployment.
  • Work daily with developers and QA through design, development, and deployment, answering questions quickly and removing blockers so the team can deliver in regular increments.
  • Work with QA to validate that delivered features meet requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify and track risks and cross-team dependencies that could affect the roadmap or releases, propose mitigations, and escalate early when needed.
  • Decide day-to-day backlog priority, requirement details, and release scope; escalate roadmap commitment, budget, or cross-team conflict issues to the Software Development Manager.
  • Define success metrics and report progress and results to stakeholders regularly.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of combined experience as a developer and/or Product Owner.
  • Experience crafting and maintaining long-term product roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated release planning and coordination experience across multiple development teams, ideally in high-frequency release environments.
  • Proven ability to write clear, detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Proficiency in Agile practices, including Scrum and Kanban, and in backlog management tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub; experience with our specific tools is not required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including raising plans, changes, and risks early.
  • Self-driven and highly organized: works independently, is detail-oriented, follows through, and brings solutions, not just problems.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and organizations.
  • Technical familiarity with software development, such as C#/.NET, React, Azure, and CI/CD or release pipelines.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and stakeholders effectively.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or equivalent certification

How Success is Measured:
  • Delivery against plan and release predictability.
  • Quality and clarity of requirements (less rework and fewer late clarifications).
  • Accuracy and clarity of the roadmap for stakeholders.
  • Adoption and business value of delivered solutions.
  • Stakeholder and team satisfaction.
