Job Title: Senior Firmware/Controls Design Engineer

Location: Franksville, WI
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience: 4+ Years

Job Description:

Seeking a Senior Firmware/Controls Design Engineer with expertise in motor control algorithms, embedded software, and power electronics to develop firmware and control solutions for variable frequency drives (VFDs).

Must-Have Skills:

  • Control Theory and Motor Control Algorithms

  • MATLAB / Simulink

  • Embedded C/C++ Development

  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)

  • Verilog HDL

  • Git Version Control

  • Firmware Development, Debugging, and Validation

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on motor or DC-DC converter control

Preferred Skills:

  • AMD/Xilinx Vivado and Vitis

  • MATLAB/System Generator and FPGA Development

  • Power Conversion and VFD Control Systems

  • Mathematica

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware and control algorithms.

  • Integrate embedded software with electrical hardware and FPGA designs.

  • Troubleshoot defects and perform validation testing.

  • Conduct design and code reviews and maintain technical documentation.

  • Lead assigned engineering projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
