About the role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer/ Tech Lead you will make an impact by designing and delivering end to end digital solutions that bring complex business and technology journeys to life. You will be a valued member of our Technology Consulting team, working collaboratively with architects, platform engineers, and client stakeholders to build scalable, cloud native systems from user experience through to backend services.

This role suits engineers who enjoy working across the full stack, validating architectural designs through real execution, and contributing to large scale, mission critical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver end to end application features across frontend, APIs, and backend services
• Build scalable, cloud native solutions aligned to modern architectural patterns and platform standards
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services that support reliable, secure system workflows
• Collaborate closely with architects and delivery teams to validate solution designs through working software
• Contribute to quality engineering practices, including automated testing, reliability, and performance considerations

Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sydney, New South Wales. What you must have to be considered

• Proven experience as a Senior Full Stack Engineer / Tech Lead delivering production grade systems
• Strong backend development experience using Node.js / TypeScript or equivalent modern stacks
• Frontend development experience with modern frameworks such as React
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience with mobile development
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts, including reliability, consistency, and failure handling

These will help you succeed

• Experience building solutions on AWS or comparable cloud platforms
• Exposure to event driven or asynchronous architectures and modern integration patterns
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud native deployment models
• Strong testing mindset, including automated testing across multiple layers
• Experience working in large scale, regulated, or data critical environments
