Description
SAIC is looking for an Outreach Engineer with Space Domain Operations experience in Chantilly, VA to support a very dynamic and innovative space program office in Chantilly, VA. In this position, you will provide technical support, coaching and mentoring Government points of contact (GPOCs) relative to ongoing capability development activities happening across diverse geographically located contractor facilities. You will also be coordinating other scopes of related work such as major program reviews, such as SV Pre-Ship Review (PSR).
The job requires knowledge of intelligence processes and plans, excellent communication and collaboration skills, the ability to create unique work products, while having the ability to be strategically proactive. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The Outreach Engineer directly supports the GPOC overseeing Outreach Communication providing critical insight into the prime contractor's execution of Strategic IC Communication.
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with government customers, Mission partners, and intelligence community stakeholders to identify emerging mission needs and capability gaps
Serve as a technical representative during customer engagements, working groups, mission panning activities, and acquisition reviews
Translate operational intelligence requirements into system-level technical requirements, architectures, and engineering solutions
Assess how intelligence collection, processing, exploitation, analysis, dissemination, and feedback activities influence system requirements and acquisition decisions
Support requirements development, capability roadmaps, concept of operations (CONOPs), and mission engineering activities
Provide mission-focused insight into acquisition planning, technology maturation, and system development efforts
Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, and program management teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately represented and prioritized
Support proposal development, technical presentations, customer demonstrations, and strategic growth initiatives
Analyze evolving intelligence mission needs and recommend enhancements to current and future capabilities
Facilitate communication between acquisition organizations, mission users, and engineering teams throughout the program lifecycle.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience; Masters and 3 years of experience.
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph within the last 2 years
5-7 years of experience in large group education, classroom leadership and Systems engineering for space programs
Familiarity with DoW/IC programs and SOW compliance
Strong organizational and communication skills within high pressure environments
Experience in reviewing installation/test procedures, monitoring execution, identifying risks, discrepancy resolution and on-site support
Desired:
INCOSE ESEP or CSEP
Bachelors degree and 9 years of experience
Experience using systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to develop, implement, and deploy solutions for Satellite Systems.
Experience as an intelligence analyst with demonstrated skills in communicating with analytical communities
Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration and test requirements and test execution, including test equipment support.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
