Systems Engineer Location: Hampshire / Hybrid (2 days onsite) Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum Security Clearance: SC Clearance required Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work on complex, cutting-edge defence technology?
We're looking for a technically driven engineer to play a key role in the design, development and delivery of advanced systems supporting critical defence capabilities.
This is an opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, from early-stage research and concept development through to product delivery and in-service support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on innovative projects involving RF communications, sensors, Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies.
The Role As a Systems Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across a range of programmes, acting as a System Design Authority and ensuring solutions are delivered to the highest technical standards. You'll be responsible for:
Leading system design activities across the full engineering lifecycle.<br />Providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams.<br />Developing innovative solutions from concept through to delivery.<br />Working closely with customers to understand requirements and shape technical solutions.<br />Supporting bids, research activities and technology development programmes.<br />Managing technical risks and ensuring projects meet performance, quality and delivery objectives.<br />Contributing to equipment trials, integration activities and rapid prototyping where required.
What We're Looking For You'll have:
A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.<br />Proven Systems Engineering experience across the product development lifecycle.<br />Experience leading technical teams or acting as a technical authority.<br />Knowledge of sensor systems and RF communications.<br />Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.<br />Current SC Clearance.
Desirable Experience Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
Electronic Warfare (EA, ES, ECM, ESM or RF Cyber)<br />Software Defined Radios (SDR)<br />Digital Signal Processing (DSP)<br />FPGA technologies<br />RF systems and antennas<br />Open architectures such as SOSA, OpenVPX, MORA, OpenCPI or STICS<br />Agile, SAFe, Waterfall or Spiral delivery methodologies<br />Technical risk and RAID management
