SEN Teacher

SEN Teacher | Durham, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £28 - £35 per hour

We're hiring for a community-focused organization dedicated to transforming the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We partner with schools and local authorities to provide impactful, individualized support.

The Role

• Provide in-person, remote, or hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to students with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Support pupils from KS1 to KS5, planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
• Develop engaging lesson plans and provide regular feedback on student progress.
• Contribute to raising the standard of education for vulnerable young people.
• Work with learners experiencing Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

What You'll Need

• 2+ years of teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD.
• Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
• Enhanced DBS check (assistance provided if needed) and 2+ professional references.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
• Based in the UK with the right to work.
