Job Description

Role Summary
This position involves managing and maintaining critical physical infrastructure to support FAA facilities within the Houston, TX region. The role requires travel to multiple sites, ensuring the operational integrity of telecommunications, power systems, and security measures. The candidate will work on long-term assignments that contribute to the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical infrastructure including generators, HVAC systems, racks, cabling, and security systems to ensure high availability.
  • Oversee vendor escorts to monitor and restrict access of non-authorized personnel at sensitive sites.
  • Lead installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling.
  • Troubleshoot and support power systems, including DC power supplies, rectifiers, batteries, and backups.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks for critical infrastructure facilities.
  • Review technical designs and contractor work for adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation related to infrastructure systems and repair activities.
  • Support both short-term and long-term infrastructure projects supporting FAA-specific locations.
  • Assist with site security protocols to safeguard sensitive equipment and areas.
  • Travel throughout the Houston region to support multiple FAA facilities, with expenses reimbursed.

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities engineering or management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent additional experience.
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure.
  • Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor work for compliance.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements for critical infrastructure.
  • Background in physical security measures for facilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple site visits and tasks.
  • Must be able to support travel throughout the Houston region as required.

Publishing Pay Range: $49.00 - $54.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
