Vice President, Loan Agency – Deal Closing

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Loan Agency, Deal Closing to join our Loans Enablement Operations team. This is a role focused on leading and coordinating the closing and onboarding of complex syndicated and bilateral loan transactions, ensuring transactions are accurately established and operationally ready for handoff to the servicing team. Position is based in Houston, Texas

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Lead and coordinate the closing and onboarding of complex syndicated and bilateral loan transactions, ensuring transactions are accurately established and operationally ready for handoff to the servicing team.
• Review and interpret complex commercial credit agreements, amendments, fee letters, and other transaction documentation to identify key deal terms and operational requirements necessary to support closing and onboarding.
• Coordinate closing activities with internal and external stakeholders, serving as a primary point of contact to address closing-related questions, resolve issues, and facilitate timely transaction execution.
• Oversee the accurate setup of deals, facilities, lender positions, commitments, pricing, fees, and other applicable transaction terms within Loan IQ based on executed transaction documentation.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of syndicated lending and Loan Agency processes to support complex deal structures and closing requirements.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve complex closing and onboarding issues, including discrepancies involving transaction documentation, deal terms, system setup, or operational requirements.
• Manage multiple transactions and competing closing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and adherence to established controls and procedures.
• Coordinate the effective transition of completed transactions to the appropriate servicing team following closing and onboarding.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to junior-level staff on complex loan structures, transaction documentation, Loan IQ functionality, and closing processes.

• May allocate or coordinate work across a team or project and serve as a subject matter expert for complex syndicated loan transactions and closing activities.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 7–12 years of total work experience is preferred.
• 5–7 years of directly related experience with syndicated loans and/or comparable commercial lending experience is required, including demonstrated experience with loan closing, transaction onboarding, and complex syndicated loan structures.
• Strong knowledge of syndicated and bilateral loan structures and closing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply complex commercial credit agreements and related transaction documentation in support of loan closings.
• Experience with Loan IQ is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities and work effectively across groups within the organization.
• Prior experience acting as a subject matter expert and coordinating the work of others.
• Ability to lead, provide guidance, exercise sound judgment, and work under limited supervision.
