About the Role
We are seeking a senior data Integration engineering leader to design, develop, and support scalable data solutions for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) and Exposure Management (EM) platforms. This role will be responsible for integrating complex trading, derivatives, collateral, market, and counterparty data to support risk analytics, regulatory reporting, limit monitoring, stress testing, and intraday analysis.
The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, Databricks, PySpark, cloud data platforms, and data integration with a deep understanding of counterparty credit risk and financial services technology. This position requires a proactive leader who can drive platform modernization, automation, operational resilience, data quality, and continuous improvement across a global technology environment.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $140k - $155k/year & benefits (see below).
Work location: New York City, NY (Hybrid, 3 days in a week)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, validate, and integrate counterparty, trade, collateral, market, and exposure data from upstream systems of record.
- Build robust ETL and ELT solutions for structured and semi-structured data across batch and streaming environments.
- Leverage enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, Databricks, Spark, and distributed processing frameworks.
- Integrate trading and derivatives data—including exposures, collateral, netting, and margin—into CCR calculation, analytics, and reporting platforms.
- Develop and maintain data models, data lineage, technical documentation, and implementation standards.
- Lead data platform migrations, modernization initiatives, and strategic engineering projects using Agile delivery practices.
- Partner with Exposure Management, Counterparty Credit Risk, Risk Analytics, Business Analysts, and Technology teams to understand and deliver business requirements.
- Implement data quality checks, reconciliations, exception management, and monitoring to ensure data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Establish and maintain effective data governance, control frameworks, metadata, lineage, and auditability.
Required Qualifications
- Overall 10+ years of IT experience is required
- Strong programming experience using Python and advanced SQL, with a focus on data transformation, analytics, and enterprise data integration.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, stored procedures
- Experience in data engineering, data integration, or enterprise data management within financial services.
- Hands on experience in supporting risk, exposure, or financial analytics platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark for large-scale data processing and ETL.
- Experience designing and managing Databricks environments, including Medallion Architecture, Workflows and orchestration
- Experience operating or supporting global, distributed, and offshore-leveraged teams in a regulated environment.
- Experience with Airflow or Astronomer is a plus.
- Experience with cloud computing and infrastructure, including Azure, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Kafka, Spark-based distributed computing, and other cloud-native technologies.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory risk data principles, including aggregation, reconciliation, traceability, transparency, and auditability.
