Job Description

Help Desk Engineer – Datacentre / Server & Storage Solutions St Albans (Hybrid – 1–2 Days in Office) | Up to £40,000 + Benefits We're working with an established global technology business specialising in high-performance server, storage and datacentre solutions, looking to add an experienced Help Desk Engineer to its technical support team. This is a specialist server hardware support role, rather than traditional desktop/end-user IT support. You'll provide enterprise-level support across server and storage infrastructure, diagnosing hardware failures, troubleshooting server and networking issues, managing RMAs and coordinating warranty repairs for customers operating business-critical datacentre environments. Why Apply:

  • Specialist infrastructure – Work directly with enterprise-grade server, storage and datacentre technologies.
  • Hardware-focused support – Diagnose server hardware faults, manage RMAs and support onsite warranty repairs.
  • Technical development – Build deeper expertise across server hardware, storage, Windows/Linux and networking.
  • Hybrid working – Just 1–2 days per week in the St Albans office.
  • Excellent benefits – Healthcare and life insurance, pension, Perkbox, subsidised gym membership, Cycle Scheme, flexible working, regular company events and 21 days' holiday increasing to 30 days over time. What we're looking for:
  • Previous technical support experience involving server hardware, storage or datacentre infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise/server-grade hardware and systems, with the ability to diagnose hardware faults.
  • Experience troubleshooting servers, storage, operating systems and associated networking issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Experience supporting customers through technical incidents from initial diagnosis through to resolution.
  • Exposure to Supermicro server solutions, hardware RMAs and warranty support would be highly advantageous. If you already support server, storage or datacentre infrastructure and want to develop your expertise within a specialist global technology business, we'd love to hear from you
