Position Summary

Security Engineer - Managed Cyber Services (Australia & New Zealand). The role is based within the Secured Infrastructure capacity of DXC's Managed Cyber Services (MCS) division, delivering end to end security operations for local and multinational clients. Candidates must hold a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Federal Government Security Clearance at Baseline and be Australian citizens.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the onboarding, management, and troubleshooting of the cybersecurity services.
  • Assist in high priority incidents, including infrastructure and security related events.
  • Ensure security services-including policies, configuration, and compliance-meet or exceed industry best practices.
  • Fulfill daily operational tasks to satisfy Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and actively identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative tasks.
  • Implement and execute tasks to fulfil project requirements.
  • Keep up to date with a variety of security technologies, trends, and emerging AI driven security tools.
  • Liaise with vendors and their technical support/engineering teams to provide advanced level support.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years' experience in IT/OT security operations for medium and/or large enterprises.
  • Experience and good knowledge in implementation and/or troubleshooting of vendor technologies, including NGFW (Palo Alto/Fortinet) and SASE (NetSkope).
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience in high priority incident response.
  • Relevant industry/vendor certifications such as CISSP, Microsoft AZ 900, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Palo Alto NetSec Pro, CheckPoint CCSE, Fortinet NSE 7, or Cisco CCNP.
  • Understanding of the OSI Layer model from TCP/IP to application level and the ability to troubleshoot & run analysis.
  • Strong team player with a can do attitude who works well collaboratively.
Highly Desirable (But Not Essential)
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency with high level programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python or PowerShell).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of deploying and managing network security controls using IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • API Integration: Experience utilizing RESTful APIs to automate firewall rule provisioning, policy management, and reporting.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Familiarity with leveraging AI technologies (e.g., AI assisted scripting tools, automated threat intelligence, or AI driven SIEM analytics) to enhance operational efficiency.
