Customer Service Representative 
Salary: $45K/year + Benefits 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
On-site in Woodcliff Lake, NJ
Need someone within a 30-minute drive of the client
 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 0–2 years in customer service, administration, banking, finance, or insurance preferred; insurance experience is not mandatory.
  • Process contract surety bond requests, including Bid, Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bonds.
  • Review submissions for accuracy and completeness and collect financial statements, WIP schedules, indemnity agreements, and underwriting documents.
  • Prepare bond forms, riders, Powers of Attorney, cancellations, amendments, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, agents, producers, and underwriters regarding bond status and outstanding requirements.
  • Maintain accurate contractor, agent, bond, CRM/agency system, and electronic records.
  • Perform contractor credit checks and assist with account management, renewals, and servicing.
  • Track bond requests, follow up on pending items, and ensure timely bond issuance and delivery.
  • Support customer service and new business development by responding to contractor/agent inquiries and following up on leads.
  • Generate departmental, production, pipeline, and sales reports.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, customer service, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook/Google Workspace; basic Excel formulas preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, learn new systems, and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Business professional attire required.
  • Key success areas: accuracy, turnaround time, responsiveness, underwriting support, customer satisfaction, and workflow management.
