Job Description

Global Network Architect

A leading enterprise technology organization is seeking a Global Network Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise networking, telecommunications, cloud networking, and connectivity infrastructure.

This role will develop network architecture strategies, establish technical standards, and evaluate emerging technologies that can improve the organization s network environment. The architect will work with engineering, cybersecurity, cloud, operations, infrastructure, and senior leadership to design reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

The organization is looking for someone who can evaluate and introduce modern networking technologies, including cloud-native networking and automation approaches that are still emerging within large global enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop network and infrastructure strategies, technology roadmaps, reference architectures, and implementation standards.

  • Evaluate modern networking technologies across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including cloud-native networking, software-defined networking, network virtualization, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

  • Assess emerging technologies such as cloud WAN, SASE, SD-WAN, intent-based networking, network automation, infrastructure as code, and programmable network architectures.

  • Evaluate new approaches to traffic engineering, application-aware networking, network telemetry, observability, and automated network operations.

  • Research emerging technologies and determine where they can provide value within a large enterprise environment.

  • Evaluate network and infrastructure solutions based on scalability, availability, performance, security, cost, and long-term business needs.

  • Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to test new technologies and architectural designs before enterprise implementation.

  • Lead architecture reviews and ensure projects follow established technical, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Provide technical direction for complex network projects, cloud migrations, and modernization of legacy infrastructure.

  • Work with engineering, security, cloud, operations, and business leaders to establish standards and resolve technical issues and trade-offs.

  • Present architecture recommendations and technical concepts to engineers, managers, and executive leadership.

  • Identify and manage risks associated with adopting new technologies and integrating them with existing enterprise infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT experience, including significant experience in network infrastructure engineering and architecture.

  • Experience designing and supporting large, complex, and global enterprise environments.

  • Strong experience with enterprise networking, cloud networking, telecommunications, and hybrid infrastructure.

  • Experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Knowledge of modern networking technologies including SD-WAN, SASE, cloud networking, network automation, infrastructure as code, software-defined networking, and network observability.

  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and developing proof-of-concepts or pilot implementations.

  • Experience leading network modernization, cloud transformation, infrastructure transformation, and architecture governance initiatives.

  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, infrastructure dependencies, technology standards, and policy requirements.

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Master s degree or technology-focused MBA preferred.

  • Ability to work with technical and business leaders and influence architecture and technology decisions.

  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
