Role Summary:
The Platform Engineer is accountable for the design and evolution of shared technology platforms that enable reliable application and infrastructure services. This role establishes common patterns and capabilities so delivery teams can build and operate solutions more quickly, consistently, and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define platform strategy, architecture principles, reference patterns, and service standards across the organization.
• Identify common capabilities that should be delivered as reusable platform services rather than one-off solutions.
• Establish requirements for scalability, availability, security, observability, integration, supportability, and user experience.
• Lead platform lifecycle planning, including technology selection, modernization, version management, and retirement of obsolete capabilities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams responsible for infrastructure, development, security, operations, data, and service management.
• Promote self-service, automation, infrastructure as code, standardized interfaces, and repeatable delivery practices.
• Define platform governance, adoption metrics, service-level expectations, and operating-model responsibilities.
• Manage architectural risks, technical debt, dependencies, and tradeoffs across platform initiatives.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders, delivery teams, and leadership.
• Build alignment across architecture, engineering, operations, security, finance, and business teams.
• Produce clear architecture decisions, standards, roadmaps, risks, and implementation guidance.
• Lead through influence, facilitate decisions, and create momentum across complex initiatives.
• Promote secure-by-design, automation-first, resilient, measurable, and customer-focused outcomes.
• Stay current on relevant technologies, market direction, operational practices, and industry standards.
