The Team You'll Join

Wallpaper* is the global design authority, leading the way in architecture, design, art, travel, fashion, technology, and beauty. Based in our London office on a hybrid basis, our digital team creates rich content that inspires millions of readers worldwide. You'll join an innovative, creative group that connects passionate audiences with contemporary visual culture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft multi-channel digital stories and develop your profile as a lifestyle journalist.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Director of Digital Content in London, you'll produce web stories, interviews, and reviews across design, travel, fashion, technology, art, and architecture. You'll work closely with Wallpaper* editors and central audience teams to pitch fresh ideas and grow our global readership. In this role, you'll bridge creative storytelling with digital optimisation to ensure our coverage reaches wide, diverse audiences.

On a daily basis, you'll draft engaging articles, craft social headlines, and publish digital stories through our web CMS. You'll use web analytics tools like Marfeel and GA4 to track article performance, monitor Google Discover trends, and create evergreen SEO content.

• Pitch and write well-researched web stories, interviews, and reviews across design, travel, fashion, beauty, tech, art, and architecture.
• Craft engaging headlines and social copy that expand and diversify our global digital audience.
• Create evergreen articles that align with our search engine optimisation (SEO) and Google Discover strategy.
• Collaborate with the Digital Director and section editors to align content plans with brand priorities.
• Monitor daily performance metrics using web analytics tools like Marfeel and Google Analytics.
• Build industry contacts across design, travel, and culture to secure exclusive story angles and interviews.

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrable experience writing and editing lifestyle, design, or culture stories for a digital publication.
• Strong written communication skills with an ability to produce accurate, engaging digital copy to deadline.
• Understanding of digital content strategy, search engine optimisation (SEO), and Google Discover principles.
• Familiarity with web analytics software like Google Analytics or Marfeel to track article engagement.
• Knowledge of or active interest in design, architecture, travel, fashion, technology, or contemporary art.
• Collaborative mindset with an ability to build positive relationships across editorial and digital teams.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience writing for an online consumer publication or digital media platform.
• Understanding of SEO best practices, digital headline writing, and web publishing tools.
• Ability to work from our London office on a hybrid basis.

The expected range for this role is £30,000 - £35,000

This is a hybrid role, working 2 days per week from our London Office
