Information Technology - Business Analyst (IT)
Location: Chicago, Illinois (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join an Agile development team. This individual will be responsible for business analysis, requirements gathering, and design of custom-developed applications, as well as vendor management. This role is essential for ensuring real-time collaboration, timely execution, and end-to-end delivery of Unified Communications services aligned with U.S. business hours, serving as a central coordination point for requirements, testing, governance, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between business partners, engineering teams, vendors, and project managers.
• Conduct stakeholder engagement and interviews to document business, functional, and data requirements.
• Translate requirements into use cases, system diagrams, and impact and gap analyses.
• Support sprint planning, backlog creation, and refinement of user stories and acceptance criteria in ADO.
• Maintain IT Service Management artifacts, including knowledge articles, escalation procedures, and on-call schedules.
• Track governance tasks such as DR planning, vulnerabilities, and end-of-life (EOL) items.
• Prepare weekly summaries and reports on project activity, service performance, SLAs, and key metrics for leadership.
• Support financial documentation, including tracking invoices, validating vendor charges, and supporting budget analysis.
• Manage and create SDAM documentation to support auditability and compliance.
• Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities to update documentation and support audits.

Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of ten years of industry experience in IT is required. Experience in an agile development methodology and a proven ability to collaborate with high-performing teams are necessary. At least two years of experience in a leadership position is needed.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Technical skills should include SQL queries, XML, FIX, and SWIFT message parsing, Agile, and JIRA.
Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with financial markets, instruments, and trade lifecycles.
• Knowledge of transaction processing, asset categories, and related FIX messaging.
• Familiarity with Order Management Systems such as Flextrade or Fidessa.
• Knowledge of Brokerage Front and Back Office functionality and processes.
• Experience with PCF, Python 2.7+, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Proficiency with JIRA for defect and backlog management.
