Electrical Project Manager

A leading North-West building services and maintenance provider is hiring an Electrical Project Manager into its Manchester operation, to run electrical delivery across its project and framework work.

Most of the work sits on an airport framework, alongside education, healthcare, retail, residential and extra care, social housing, commercial and industrial clients. Fit-outs, refurbishments, infrastructure upgrades and new installations, much of it inside buildings that stay open while the work goes on.

The business is part of a wider group covering construction, fire and security, and building services consultancy, and it holds maintenance and service contracts alongside the projects. That is what keeps the pipeline steady rather than tender to tender.

• Manage electrical projects from mobilisation through commissioning, handover and close-out
• Lead site teams and specialist electrical subcontractors
• Act as the main electrical point of contact for clients and main contractors
• Coordinate with mechanical colleagues working the same sites
• Manage programmes, procurement, cost reporting and variations alongside the commercial team
• Ensure BS 7671 compliance and uphold health, safety and quality standards
• Oversee testing, commissioning and O&M documentation

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager with an M&E or electrical contractor
• A track record of delivering electrical projects from start to finish
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services and BS 7671
• Experience working in live or occupied environments
• Commercial awareness, including programme and cost control
• A time-served electrical background, plus SMSTS and CSCS
• A full UK driving licence

An HNC or equivalent helps, as does education, retail fit-out, residential or commercial experience. Airport experience is not required.

• £65,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package
