Front Office Risk Analyst, Credit, Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund, London - JMD Reg Consultancy LTD

JMD Consultancy is partnering with a London-based multi-strategy hedge fund to appoint a Front Office Risk Analyst, focused on Credit.

The role sits within the Portfolio Construction team is markets-facing and central to the investment process. The successful candidate will work directly with portfolio managers and play an active role in how risk is taken across the credit portfolios.

The Role

1. Partner with credit portfolio managers on positioning, sizing and hedging decisions
2. Analyse market risk across investment grade and corporate credit portfolios, including spread, rates, curve and liquidity exposures
3. Conduct scenario analysis, stress testing and risk attribution to support portfolio construction
4. Present clear, actionable risk analysis to senior portfolio managers and senior management
5. Develop and enhance risk tools and analytics, using AI and automation to improve efficiency and insight
6. Monitor market developments and assess their impact on portfolio positioning in real time

Requirements

1. 1–3 years’ experience in traded credit, gained on the sell side (e.g. flow credit trading, desk strats or front office risk) or at a hedge fund or asset manager
2. Strong flow credit product knowledge, including IG and HY corporate bonds, CDS and indices
3. Sound understanding of risk metrics such as spread duration, DV01/CS01, VaR and stress testing
4. Commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with and challenge portfolio managers
5. Practical experience with AI tooling and programming (Python preferred) to automate and enhance analysis
6. A strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering)
