Job Title: Test Engineer
Location Austin, TX (On-site, need local only)
Fulltime
Location and Hours:
300 W 6th St, Austin, TX 78701 (Downtown Austin)
Fully onsite role (remote or hybrid work is not possible)
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM


Job Description
This is a software triage role driven by manual testing. Testing will be conducted on client products, including smart glasses and VR headsets, as well as standard mobile devices.
Client employees participate in dogfooding (internal testing) of their products. This testing identifies potential software bugs, which are then logged as tickets. Our team reviews each ticket, attempts to reproduce the core issue, and writes up the findings.

Responsibilities:
Understand and utilize complex documentation
Navigate the client ticketing system
Review reported bugs
Identify core issues
Perform manual testing
Complete tickets by providing information, including repro steps, results, tagging, priority, severity, and assignment
Required Qualifications:
Tech literacy, including navigating and troubleshooting software
iOS and Android experience
Experience using generative AI tools
Adaptability to changing requirements
Critical thinking and judgment
Ability to interpret basic data tables and charts
Tolerance for ambiguity
Calm under pressure
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience conducting root cause analysis
Experience reviewing software logs
Basic programming knowledge

All tools and software used are proprietary
Our team does not handle dogfooding or test planning
This is not an Agile environment
There are no opportunities for automation testing
