Scientist

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist for an Onsite position with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in West Point, PA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves working in a laboratory setting on analytical method development and routine testing using advanced separation and biochemical techniques. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with chromatography systems like HPLC/UPLC and capillary electrophoresis, contributing to complex objectives within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical method development
• Conduct routine laboratory testing using separation and biochemical methods
• Handle data processing, documentation, and reporting
• Prepare reagents for laboratory use
• Maintain, track, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on instruments
• Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment
• Prepare documentation including electronic notebooks
• Conduct scientific data review

Requirements:

• Ph.D. degree with 2 years of experience in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field OR M.S. degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry OR B.S. degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry
• Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge with laboratory techniques such as HPLC/UPLC (including SEC, HIC, IEX, and RP), CE, cIEF, and Simple Western
• Experience with Chromatography (HPLC / UPLC - reverse phase and SEC) or CE (Capillary electrophoresis)
• Experience with Empower, 32 Carat, or other laboratory software, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to deliver complex objectives under aggressive timelines in a rapidly changing environment

Desired skills:

• Experience with MALS (Multi-angle light scattering)/RI/UV and CAD detection
• Experience with DLS and Zeta Potential
• Experience in small-molecule (e.g., lipid) and/or biologic (e.g., protein or mRNA) analysis
• Knowledge of separation methods including Reverse phase, SEC, CE and Hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC)

Pay range: up to $72.62 per hour
