Job Description

SUMMARY

The Private Client Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of affluent and high-net-worth client relationships and managing bankers seeking to maintain a client portfolio. The Private Client Sales Manager delivers full balance sheet advice through a team-based approach, providing customized banking, lending, and wealth solutions aligned with First Horizon’s commitment to excellence in client service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive sales process and ensure overall success of a large Private Client team, executing strategic initiatives in alignment with organizational financial goals.

Recruit, lead, and coach private banking team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and client-centric excellence.

Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value clients by deepening existing relationships and acquiring new ones through proactive outreach and personalized financial solutions. Serve as a trusted financial advisor by thoroughly understanding each client’s financial situation, goals, and needs. Recommend and deliver customized solutions, including credit, deposits, investments, insurance, and wealth planning, utilizing internal specialists. Lead client conversations with advanced credit knowledge and structure complex credit and banking solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners—including credit, trust, mortgage, planning, and insurance—to deliver an integrated client experience. Drive growth through deposits, loans, and fee income; meet or exceed sales and client retention goals. Maintain a strong presence in the community to generate referrals and build new client relationships. Stay informed on economic, legal, and market trends impacting clients, acting as a resource to clients. Monitor and manage client portfolios for changes in financial status, product needs, and risk exposure.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, completing required training on time. Act as a peer mentor and culture champion, modeling team-based collaboration and First Horizon values. Collaborate with the Market President and/or Line of Business leaders to support the development and implementation of strategies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly responsible
for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated teams or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in private banking, wealth management or commercial banking.

Proven record managing affluent and high-net-worth client relationships
Advanced credit knowledge and experience structuring complex lending solutions
Strong understanding of deposit, credit, and investment products
Demonstrated success in a goal-oriented, performance-driven environment
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and relationship management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
Must comply with SAFE Act requirements within 30 days of employment

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

FINRA Series 6 or 7, 66 (63 and 65 in lieu of 66) and applicable insurance licenses (Life, health, and Variable.)
