Job description

Senior Product Manager

The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Senior Product Manager to join a multi-billion-dollar global technology leader in its segment of the chemical industry. The role is based in Orangeburg, NY, about 30 minutes north of New York City, and offers a hybrid arrangement that blends on-site time with work from home. Strong paid relocation is available.

As the Senior Product Manager, you will guide domestic and imported product lines through their full lifecycle, from new product registration (NPR) and commercialization readiness through production scale-up, raw material planning, and launch. This position pairs classic product management with substantial supply chain, plant coordination, and operational execution responsibility. You will act as the central link between Sales Managers, Business Directors, Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Customer Service, turning commercial goals into executable plans, and you will lead the Customer Service function along with a team of product management professionals. The client is known for supporting both the personal and professional sides of a career, with a modern team culture, a real commitment to work/life balance, and genuine exposure and growth.

What You'll Do

  • Advance portfolio priorities, NPR, commercialization, and scale-up across assigned business units, coordinating Sales, Technical, Product Development, Purchasing, Planning, Manufacturing, and Operations to develop, launch, supply, and rationalize products.
  • Align product plans with customer needs, market opportunities, and growth objectives in partnership with Business Directors and Sales Managers, providing market analysis on current and emerging technologies.
  • Own demand planning and forecasting for every product line, blending forecasts, actual sales, customer requirements, inventory, capacity, and supply constraints.
  • Track production schedules, inventory, and open orders, flagging risks and recovery actions to affected teams.
  • Orchestrate supply for domestic and export customers, including products sourced from or shipped to company subsidiaries.
  • Set inventory, safety stock, and replenishment targets that protect customer service while limiting excess stock.
  • Represent the commercial organization as the primary contact for the plant, translating demand into production, purchasing, import inventory, and logistics plans.
  • Prioritize production campaigns with Manufacturing to lift fulfillment performance and forecast accuracy, and join plant production, inventory, and supply-planning reviews.
  • Manage inventory health across all product lines, including slow-moving, excess, obsolete, expired, damaged, and off-spec material.
  • Chair MRB reviews and build disposition, reduction, and rebalancing plans with Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Lead the Customer Service team, covering staffing, workload, training, development, performance management, and procedural compliance.
  • Ensure accurate order execution, reliable availability and delivery communication, backlog control, and timely escalation of customer issues.
  • Define and monitor Customer Service metrics such as order accuracy, cycle time, response time, on-time delivery, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise Product Managers, Assistant Product Managers, Product Specialists, and other assigned staff.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years in a chemical-related business, specifically in Supply Chain, Product Management, or Planning
  • College degree in business or a technology-related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (required)
  • Hands-on SAP experience (required); SAP S/4HANA preferred
  • Skill in Sales Data Analysis (historical, forecast, and budget), including quantity, revenue, price, and gross margin, with the ability to recommend actions that secure supply
  • Strength in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Management, and Product Lifecycle Management
  • Direct customer-facing experience (required), including delivering product and service presentations to customers and prospects
  • Strong Negotiation, Data Management, and Problem Solving skills, plus a working understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Ability to collaborate across Sales, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Service, and Logistics and to influence across departments
  • Comfort working in a multinational, cross-cultural environment
  • Strategic thinking, creative problem solving, clear written and verbal communication, strong time management, and a meticulous, organized, results-driven approach
  • A minimum of 6 months in your current position
  • Dependable, punctual attendance, which is an essential function of the role
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Salary: $123,000–$153,000, depending on experience
  • Bonus: Annual bonus potential of 8–12%, plus a sign-on bonus
  • Benefits: Excellent, low-cost benefits package and 401(k) match
  • Relocation: Strong paid relocation assistance
  • Engagement: Full-time, direct hire; hybrid, based in Orangeburg, NY
